# RustSearch pagination repair — 31c1a0e8b34a

Update the existing plugin. Do not uninstall it.

This build fixes browser searches failing when Koha requests more than 100 results per page. The adapter collects larger pages through native requests of at most 100 records, preserving offsets, sorting, visibility, totals and facets within the supported 10,000-result window. The engine binary and index schema do not change.

1. Upload `LightwaveLibrary-RustSearch-0.6.0-setup-afb945d8efb5.kpz` over the existing RustSearch plugin.
2. Open Configuration and use the newly uploaded package’s bundled setup command over SSH.
3. When `--check-only` reports `Compatible local engine: True`, run the same command with `--existing-engine` instead of `--check-only` to apply the update. A check does not apply changes.
4. Test the staff and OPAC searches. If a temporary `numSearchResults=20` setting restored search, keep it until setup completes; then test your original page size, including page two.

Schema-6 servers require a coordinated migration to schema 7 or newer before activation. A KPZ upload does not migrate an engine or index. The activation guard checks the served schema, profiles and native capabilities before saving SEARCHENGINE.

All 1,668 Perl assertions passed. Real Koha searches for cats and horses passed at 20, 200 and 500 records per page, including later pages and comparison of returned IDs and ordering. The earlier ASCII normalization and bounded item-ID search optimizations remain unchanged.

## Latest engine repair: staff barcode keyword searches

The pagination-only instructions above reuse the existing engine. To apply the newer staff barcode keyword fix, upload the latest KPZ and run its bundled `--update` command to refresh the executable. `--existing-engine` does not apply the barcode fix. No schema change or full reindex is required. See [the barcode repair instructions](barcode-keyword-repair.html). The Z39.50 save HTTP 500 remains under investigation.
