Work with MARC files, privately.
Choose a tool, load ISO 2709 .mrc files or a ZIP, make your changes, then download a new MARC or MARCXML file. MARC and ZIP files stay in this browser and are never uploaded. A SQL Server .mdf file is the exception: it is uploaded so it can be read, then deleted.
Run this on your Koha server
Download the plugin and upload it in the staff interface under Administration → Manage plugins, then enable MARC Utilities. Open it from Cataloging, from More → MARC utilities, or from Tools → Tool plugins. Staff who will use it need the Use tool plugins permission.
Merge MARC records
Records are kept in their original order. Duplicate records are retained.
Changes to apply
Every occurrence of a matching subfield will be updated. Enable “add if missing” only when you want a field created on records that do not already have it.
Load one or more MARC files to begin.
Designed for practical Koha cleanup
- Use
952$afor home branch,952$bfor holding branch,952$yfor item type, and952$pfor barcode. - Custom fields are supported: enter a three-character MARC tag and a one-character subfield code.
- Use a copy of your source file and test the resulting MARC before importing it into production.
- Large MARC files are processed in this browser, not on the koha.pro server. A very large MARC file can slow down or crash the tab if the computer does not have enough memory.
- A SQL Server
.mdfupload leaves this browser. koha.pro deletes that file after the MARC download or after 30 minutes.
